Two friends were bored on a Friday night. Deciding that there was nothing to do just by themselves, they roped a few other people in. Eventually, they had five people with nothing to do. There but for the grace of God, someone came up with an Idea. It was a pleasant enough night, why not paint it red? Packing into a Civic, they drove through the city, but nothing there really excited them, so they drove further out into the country. Country roads being notoriously narrow and curvy meant that the boys took their time, ...going as fast as possible. Eventually they came upon an interesting site; a long since abandoned farm. They came to that understanding given the dated (and rusted out) farm equipment sitting in the same spot for the last 50 years. They made their way up the long driveway to the main house with a few flashlights lighting their way. The night was not too cold and fortunate for them, a full moon was able to illuminate what else the flashlights could not reach, but even so, the house seemed as if no light could touch it. Covered with thick ivy and moss, it was actually fairly easy to climb. Entering through the upstairs window, the gang were met in a long hallway illuminated only from the moonlight in the hallway. Going down a once grand spiral staircase, they found themselves in the living room still having the sitting chairs and book cases; even the decades old tea cups still sat in place on the tables. But suddenly, the last thing the friends expected came from the kitchen… “You boys should have saved yourselves the trouble and knocked on the front door...” “...it was open.”
