A new monk was ordained into the order. He soon became known for his ability to do everything “perfectly.” He was not only always on time for prayer, but he helped set up beforehand. He tended to the gardens the first thing in the morning after contemplation, and it was the last thing he did before retiring. He also took to finding “The Answer” like this. Doing everything religiously, he thought that would get him closer to God… ...especially the closest out of the rest of the monks. In conversation with the Abbott, he made sure to tell him “The Answer” as he saw it. “It is written that the Kingdom of Heaven is within, and that the Lord keeps our paths straight.” “It is he who is all-knowing as the Alpha and Omega, yet He gave us free-will out of his benevolence for us to choose Him and Him only.” “The true answer is to seek first the Kingdom of God; our salvation given to us by his Glory.” The Abbott responded: “If there was nothing to search for, how do you have the right answer?”
