There was a house known, if not infamous, for letting complete strangers hang out and bunk for days and weeks on end.

In that sense, it was essentially a hostel, but it was much more than just a hotel for travelers.

The house was also known through the grapevine for its owners.

Two individuals who took over an abandoned colonial house and renovated it into something for the community.

The only thing was…

...it was “their” community.

The popular legend going around was that the two owners were two friends who met in college, that were actually quite vile and nasty to each other; basically like an older brother vs. younger brother dynamic, but with more depravity.

Yet this is what made them similar and therefore the best of friends, if not the most mortal of enemies, simultaneously.

One day, they decided to drop out of school together and wound up bumming around across the country.

The two eventually made it to a northern down-on-its-luck steel town where they came across this abandoned factory.

Exploring it, they made their way down to the deepest and darkest depths of its interior, and not expecting to find anyone there,

...of course they find someone there.

People have debated whether it was an actual person, or their hallucination, as the two had to be rescued as they were found passed out from natural gas fumes; yet interestingly, they were found five stories above where they met this “individual”, as if they had dragged them back up.

The two considered it a spiritual experience and became “enlightened.”

They talked of a particular state of consciousness which that individual in the factory showed them.

Since then, they aspired to give this great experience to others so that they could also see the sheer beauty that was shown to them.

So today, there main legacy has been since been carried all over the world, yet the two friends made their humble home here, yet open to all who have the desire to…

...know themselves.
