A high schooler was waiting for his sister to pick him up from an end of the year ceremony.

A few underclassmen were chosen to be chaperones for the school's celebration of the graduating seniors.

He did not have much to do but man the doors and clean up after the festivities.

Clean up took very little time and it was not long before everything was done.

He, being too young to drive, had to wait a little before his sister got off work to pick him up, so he did what he could to pass the time...

...but eventually all options were exhausted and he just had to wait on the bench outside.

It was not too bad however, the benches faced the parking lot, so he got to see all the parents embrace their sons and daughters; delighting in their children's success.

He always loved to watch people; creating stories and fictions about who they were, what they were think and where they were going.

However, his sister was going to come later than he thought; he watched as the parents and soon-to-be graduates slowly trickled out.

Until only one car was left.

In front of it was a father and his son.

This pair struck him more than the others; who could not help to think that all the other people had other things in mind:

Parties to go to.
Cookouts.
Just leaving the parking lot...

In this case, the father was only concerned about his son, and son concerned only about is father.

...and what really affected him was there embrace.

It lasted longer than any normal hug would be, but he was finally able to see a true form of love.

A love that existed without any time or space.

Of course eventually the pair left the teen by himself,

...but certainly not without something to say.

He took a notebook out of his bookbag.
