A family went to church every Sunday without fail, making sure to imbue their children with proper morals and values, ...even if they did not really “believe” in them, themselves. Their kids, though, soaked up everything like a sponge. Whether it was during the sermon or sunday school, the pastors and teachers certainly taught the kids all about the gospel and salvation. Of course, these teachers would be remiss to talk to the children about the “hereafter”. The delightful dwelling place, replete with your mansion over the hilltop and streets pathed with the purest gold. All of this makes a dichotomy between two worlds; the world of the physical, the “now”, and the world of the spiritual, with all the angels, deceased loved ones, and of course the Lord himself. This might seem a very “mature” conclusion for a kid to reach, but that is exactly what happened. After coming home from service one day, a child asked his mother “how can I know the spirit world exists?” The mother answered gleefully knowing her child was taking to their lessons. “You will know the spirit world as clear as day; you will be able to touch, taste, see, smell, and hear all the glory that dwells within it.” “But if those are all the sensations I feel right now in the physical, how can I know for sure what I’m feeling is spiritual?”
