Pet Shop

There was a little pet shop in a small town that didn’t sell too many pets, but the pets they did sell were nevertheless quite endearing.

In a couple of rooms, they had their section for fish and the reptiles, the rabbits and hamsters in their own cages.

The dogs and cats were in their kennels placed across from each other.

Despite this placement, there was no antagonism between the two animals.

Different species with differing needs and different temperaments were actually peaceful interacting with each other.

Why was this?

An employee took into account the tight space of this little pet shop with not much money to provide more than the bare necessities, a little time after he closed down for the night,

...he opened every cage of cat and dog across from each other, one by one.

The cat who faced the dog hour by hour, day after day,

...had no interaction with each other,

until this kid with his plan to let them actually meet.

Wet nose meeting whiskers at first glance, shyness slowly dissolving into curiosity,

ultimately knowing love.
