Her Own Wings

A school boy was living his life carefree…

...until he fell in love.

It was “he” who fell in love; unfortunately or fortunately, the love was a one sided affair with him carrying all the weight.

Even though they call love “blind,” the boy was sudden struck with 20/20 vision after carrying on for a long time chasing this girl, the girl grew bored and stopped stringing him along.

The boys advances had no effect.

It was as if the girl suddenly “disappeared.”

Confused, the boy went to one of his favorite teachers for advice; they responded with an old maxim:

“A bird sitting on a tree is never afraid of the branch breaking because her trust is not on the branch, but her own wings.
