At a local high school, a few kids got together and started a new club. In order to make it “acceptable”, they formulated a name and bylaws, but in actuality, it was just a club where people just “hung out”. That was really the whole purpose of the club. These friends saw everyone bearing the brunt of waking up early and going to sleep late, always weaving in homework between their other extracurriculars. So what these friends did was take over the school’s basement after the final bell; They brought in a couple of Xboxes and Ps4’s, Some board games, ...and of course a little music… ...to make a lovely after school hang out spot. In order to make it “school appropriate”, they made sure to provide chairs, tables, and cushions for people to study, as well as to have designated tutors to help the homework of any kid who stopped by. As the club’s popularity spread by word of mouth, an interesting thing started to happen: The student’s grades improved ten-fold, Attendance was much better, and of course… ...the idea spread to other schools.
