The son of a high government official did not share his father’s high valuing of virtue and morality. What he valued instead was seeking immediate pleasure and doing whatever he wanted to do, whenever he wanted to do it. Among many of the things he did was beguile a girl to not only be his lover… ...but accomplice in crime as well. Their Bonnie & Clyde spree kept going on for a while, but their lifestyle eventually caught up with them. It so happened that during one get away, the guy actually got away but it was his girl that got caught by the police and received a heavy sentence. This was a slap in the face that implored him to turning his life around. He traveled across the country doing goods deeds for people when before he would try to see how much he could take advantage of others. At one particularly humble and poor community, they had one bridge that led into town that spanned a deep valley that was in dire need of repair. Without hesitating for a second, he started to rebuild it. Of course, even though he was now a public servant, he was still technically a fugitive of the law; and it happened that after a few years of his diligent work on this bridge in this country town, a police officer found him. Finally catching up with him, he started to read his rights, but the officer was stopped in mid phrase. “Sir, I know I am a felon, but I have been building this bridge for these kind people… ...if you don’t mind, after I finish this bridge I will give myself up immediately.” Taking all of the circumstances into account the officer obliged. However, after four months of waiting around watching him from sunrise to sunset, he started to grow impatient. The officer began helping the felon with his task. By the end of the year, the bridge was finally completed to the delight of the townspeople. “Alright officer, I am yours.” The officer responded without hesitation. “...and I am yours.” “Be on your way.”
