Become the Chooser

If you struggle with purpose.
If you do not know the answers.
If you are confused.
If you cannot find meaning.

Rejoice!
You are well on your way!
Far better to not be able find that which does not exist.
For you are not lost.

If everything is dark.
If nothing happy is there.
If everything to which you turn your gaze,
Disappears and is gone.

Oh, wonderful!
You have lost something you never had!
Now you can find something real.
First, give up looking for what you've already lost.

Now see:

You have been happy,
You have had purpose,
You have had meaning,
You have had fulfillment.

You can have it again.
Study yourself.
It is not outside your control.
It is in you.

What you feel is not what you are.
You are not your choices, you are the one who chooses.
If you are in darkness, you have chosen darkness.
If you wish for light you must choose light.

You are the chooser.
This does not change.
You can have anything you choose.
You just have to choose it.
